Our Team
Stephani Schlief, B.S., is a Research Associate at Peptinovo, bringing a diverse and well-rounded background in research, clinical management, and biotechnology. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University in 2018, graduating Cum Laude with a double major in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Mathematics. As a Medallion Scholar, she pursued advanced research and published an honors thesis on optimizing plant virus-based transient expression systems for peptide screening.
Her early research career began at Vestaron Corporation, an agricultural biotechnology company pioneering peptide-based insecticides inspired by spider venom. Her work contributed to the development of novel agroinoculation protocols for high-throughput peptide screening in plants.
Following her undergraduate degree, Stephani had clinical research and healthcare administration roles at Michigan Spine and Brain Surgeons PLLC (MSBS). These roles deepened her understanding of the intersection between research and patient care, further solidifying her commitment to translational medicine.
Seeking to return to bench-top research, Stephani gained additional experience in histological processing at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital before joining Peptinovo in 2023.
Her expertise in analytical techniques, clinical trial initiation, and regulatory compliance, combined with her personal experience as a childhood chemotherapy patient, provides her with a unique perspective on developing therapies with a patient-centric approach.
